Sarah Phelps

A life-long rider, Sarah started Great and Small in 1998 and returned as its Executive Director in April 2024. Sarah has had a career in higher education and non-profit law, serving as general counsel to two Washington, DC universities and Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area. Rejoining Great and Small is a wonderful full circle moment, and her passion for horses and all the good they can do has not dimmed since Great and Small’s inception.
